Hi Xamarin HQ Team,
I'd really like to get my hands on some Xamarin + Beacon swag you are offer for great ideas built with the Xamarin environment tools. I will be attending the Allianz Risk hackathon here in London, May 29th 2015, and as part of the event we will be competing to develop an IoT service product in the categories of Home,Mobility and Health. It would be great to receive the materials you are offering in the contest as this would give us all the essential building blocks to develop our idea over the 3 day event to its' full potential ...
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT US BEGGING, (PRETTY PLEASE PICK ME) let me introduce to you the running idea we (my team of 3) has to work with behind the beacon tech project !
PRESENTING: The Fire Beacon Safety Package.
Taking home safety, smart phones and beacon technology to its' potential we have devised a concept emergency preparedness app that will allow home owners, office safety managers and school teachers a simple and effective way to prepare and test fire emergency safety plans using beacons and smart phone.
The TWO key features of the package include:
1) The ability to setup, link and coordinate fire emergency pathways using beacons. We will provide a refreshable network interface that can monitor travel distance, user locations and smoke-building related sensors. We will add the ability to share the beacon locations and pathways via email.pdf using the Google Map Floor Plan service with users of the service, as well as a public profile key for emergency rescue units to access and use to better manage their own on-site "record-tracking" plan in the event of a real-time emergency.
2) The ability to register mobile users on the app so to track-records and guide them using the mobile and beacon devices' sensors. This will include sensor-relayed notifications, distance tracking between beacon locations with audio-motioned responses ("Turn left, Stairs 3m to your Right") and vibration frequency controls for proximity measures to aid event of hearing or visual impairment. Ideally, we would like the mobile phone to be thought of as "carry-on" emergency tool and to be used in the same way id-badges and|or how fire extinguisher might be stored | used by personnel.
Additional Features include:
As viewable in the picture, I own two Razer Nabu wristband (1 is visible in the picture), so as time permits we will steer in the direction of using these devices with the beacons to relay notifications and vibrations. We might also explore the option of using wristband to establish team leaders or to sign-in individuals as the wristband allow gesture controls to connect between bands ( A better way to re-count registered mobile users) . We will also explore the option of using the mobile phones camera | light sensor to improve our understanding of "smoke illumination lenses" and potentially integrating the Qualcomm SDK text2audio reader where emergency signs require relayed audio translation commands or a virtual button to prompt an emergency call response.
So thats' our project in a nut-shell. I hope you are as excited as we are to see it develop.
